NOTICE OF 2026 AGM
NWIC will be holding its Annual General Meeting (AGM) on February 7, 2026 between 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM in Vancouver. To help with meeting logistics (set-up and refreshment ordering) members must register to attend by February 5 by emailing admin@nwindigenous.org
Call for Board Director Applications
NWIC is also seeking applications for its Board of Directors ahead of the AGM. We are building a board that is active, accountable, and reflective of the urban Indigenous communities we serve—off-reserve, non-Status, and Métis peoples across British Columbia.
Board members serve 2-year terms (currently no limit on consecutive terms) and are expected to participate in four main board meetings per year (generally held virtually), as well as key in-person events where travel and per diems are provided. Board service is volunteer, with no honorarium.
Directors will take leadership roles connected to NWIC’s priority areas:
-
Housing
-
Post-Secondary Education
-
Family Services
-
Justice
-
Language
-
MMIWG2S (Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and 2SLGBTQQIA+ People)
- Governance
- Finance
Applicants will be asked to identify their top three priority areas.
To ensure meaningful representation, the board must make a reasonable effort to include at least one youth, one elder, and one 2SLGBTQIA+ identifying member.
Eligibility Requirements:
-
Must live in British Columbia
-
Must have submitted an NWIC membership application at least three months prior to the AGM
🗓 Application deadline: February 5th, 2026
🗳 Board members will be voted in at the AGM on February 7
If interested, please complete this Board Application Form.
We welcome applications from members who bring lived experience, skills, and a commitment to strengthening urban Indigenous communities.
